Michael grew up in the middle of an apple orchard in Upstate NY’s picturesque Hudson Valley. He studied graphic design at the school of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning at the University of Cincinnati, then ventured to Italy where he lived and worked in Milan for four years. He is fluent in Italian, and has studied Spanish, French, and Japanese. He aims to study Greek and German next. His personal fascination is with communication and meaning and how they intertwine through verbal and visual languages.
Before entering the book world, he worked in the beauty industry art directing and designing packaging and collateral for high-profile brands, both luxury and mass.
