Ana Crespo
Ana Crespo is at her happiest when she is surrounded by nature. So, Ana spends her summers traveling around the United States, visiting National Parks, and exploring some of the most beautiful places in America. She usually returns from her trips full of ideas for new books.
Her stories tend to focus on nature or Brazilian culture or a mix of both, such as in Saudade: Our Longing for Brazil (Neal Porter Books/Holiday House, 2024), which received a starred review from the School Library Journal, and was selected as both a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection and a Notable Social Studies Trade Book for Young Readers.
Ana’s other books include the award-winning titles The Sock Thief: A Soccer Story, winner of a 2016 International Latino Book Award, Lia & Luís: Who Has More?, winner of the 2021 Mathical Book Award, and Lia & Luís: Puzzled!, winner of the 2024 Colorado Book Award.
As a former literary agent with East West, Ana represented amazing people and incredible talent. She continues to partner with the agency as an editorial consultant.
Ana considers herself lucky to have a career that allows her to keep her imagination alive way beyond her childhood years. Originally from Brazil, Ana lives in the beautiful Rocky Mountain region with her husband and kids.
