Anndee Hochman
Anndee Hochman is a journalist, essayist, teaching artist and storyteller. For nine years, she wrote the weekly “Parent Trip” column for the Philadelphia Inquirer; an anthology of those columns, along with her personal essays on parenthood, is forthcoming from Temple University Press in January 2026. Her work has also been published in O, the Oprah Magazine, Poets & Writers, WebMD and numerous anthologies, including The Best Short Stories of Philadelphia. Her books include Anatomies: A Novella and Stories and Everyday Acts & Small Subversions: Women Reinventing Family, Community and Home. As a teaching artist, Anndee helps writers across the age span find their voices in poetry, memoir, storytelling and creative nonfiction; she has taught in schools, juvenile detention centers, libraries, senior housing facilities and a small village on Mexico’s Pacific coast. Anndee is also a ten-time Moth Story Slam winner who shared first place in Philadelphia’s 2022 Moth GrandSlam. She lives in Philadelphia.
