From THERE’S SOMETHING ODD ABOUT THE BABYSITTER
(written by Elayne Crain, Macmillan/Feiwel & Friends)

 “Read. Laugh. Repeat.”
Kirkus

Available June 3, 2025

John Ledda considered many careers—from architect to dolphin trainer—before returning to the one thing he had always loved: Art. He creates exciting, whimsical worlds full of expressive characters and documents moments—big and small—that kids experience as they learn and grow.

John enjoys borrowing from his experience in traditional media and combining it with the digital techniques he’s honed as a professional graphic designer, successfully taking on the challenge of creating digital work that still retains the charm of traditionally created pieces. The result is a work that draws the reader in with humor, heart and warmth.

John is adept at tackling a wide range of subject matter, from his nuanced depiction of PTSD in Joanna Rowland’s Big Bear Was Not the Same (published by Beaming Books), to his laugh-out-loud portrayal of three mischievous raccoons in Elayne Crain’s There’s Something Odd About the Babysitter (coming June 2025, published by Feiwel & Friends). He delights in the opportunity to bring stories to life for kids of all ages.

John holds a BA in Studio Art and an MFA in Illustration. He currently lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he can often be found enjoying the beautiful weather, beaches, and forests. When he’s not scribbling in his iPad, John likes to cook, read, and hike with his partner.
