Saxton Moore, an Emmy winning animation professional and children’s book illustrator with over 20 years of experience, is a 3X Emmy-nominated Animation Director and Creative Director. His career highlights include pioneering work for Cartoon Network’s branding, significant roles at American Greetings/Cloudco revitalizing brands like Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake, and directing award winning projects for Nickelodeon, Disney+, Sesame Workshop, and Cartoon Network’s “IYANU child of wonder” series. Most recently, Saxton was the Executive Creative Director/VP of Production at Lionforge Animation, focusing on content that amplifies inclusive stories and diverse creators.

Drawing from his rich background in animation, Saxton infuses each of his illustrations with a unique vibrancy, creating worlds that leap off the pages, igniting the imagination of wide-eyed readers. He begins by diving into the narrative, selecting a style that captures the tone and spirit of the text. He then designs the characters, transforming initial sketches into dynamic, charming poses that capture the characters’ personalities—a magic moment that Saxton calls “finding the soul of the drawing.” He fully brings the characters to life by using eye-catching color palettes, evoking the emotional depth of the narrative.

Saxton is the illustrator of the LEGENDS OF HIP HOP board book series (Harper Collins), conceptual bios that introduce tiny readers to hip-hop’s finest with fun and easy-to-remember facts, written by music producer Pen Ken. He is unwavering in his commitment to creating meaningful content that amplifies the voices of underrepresented communities in the media.
